# SpeakerID for Live Captioning on Mobile [Beta]

# What is SpeakerID?

**SpeakerID** is a powerful new feature designed to enhance your live captioning experience by distinguishing between speakers during a conversation or meeting. This feature automatically assigns different colors to each speaker, making it easier to follow along. Additionally, you can label each speaker with their name, providing a more personalized and organized experience.

For the first time, you will be able to automatically identify all the speakers in the conversation and display what they say in a different color! No need to invite them with another device to do a group conversation anymore.

**🤖 Note:** for Android users, please test using our [new Android app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.ava.android&hl=en_US). This app is also in Beta, so you may see other issues. We want any and ALL feedback. from you about your experience.

**Speaker Limit**: SpeakerID supports up to **5 speakers at a time** and performs best with clear audio input. If you have more than 5 speakers, consider using [Ava Connect](https://help.ava.me/en/articles/8420992-how-to-caption-an-online-meeting-with-ava) on Web or Desktop or [Group Conversations](https://help.ava.me/en/articles/2752252-captioning-group-conversations-on-ava) for more advanced speaker identification.

# **How to Enable SpeakerID on** 📱 **Mobile**

🚧 SpeakerID is currently in Beta and you must be given access to see it in your Ava Conversation. For questions, please email us at [support@ava.me](mailto:support@ava.me)

1. **Start** a conversation on either your 🍎 [iOS](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ava-transcribe-voice-to-text/id1030067058) or 🤖 [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.ava.android&hl=en_US) App

2. Tap your ⚙️ **Settings**

3. Find the **Speaker ID toggle** and turn it on by seeing green

# How to Assign Speaker Names

During a conversation, you will see each speaker labeled by number with two buttons to assign a speaker name or claim that it is your voice.

1. If it is your voice, tap on " **It's me**"

2. Tap " **Name**" to enter the name of the speaker and it will remember it throughout the conversation

3. Tap the ✅ **blue check mark** or hit ↩️ **Enter** to return to the conversation

# Enter the Amount of Speakers

1. A pop-up bar will show when 3 or more speakers are detected. It's helpful to enter the exact number of speakers to improve the SpeakerID

2. Enter the number of speakers

3. Tap **Okay** to exit the pop-up
