Why are my captions not working/accurate?

Ava is an artificial intelligence program - it's not as intelligent as a human being, but with the right configuration, it can subtitle very accurately (above 85% accuracy) what people say.
What's the right configuration?
🗣 📲 Allow Ava to pick up sound close enough to the person speaking. Make sure a microphone connected to Ava is within 12 inches of the person speaking to get the most accurate captions. How do I get started?
Install Ava on your smartphone and hold it close to the person in front of you.
Standing in front of each other? 🔄 Turn your phone so that the microphone is closer and gain 10% accuracy. Find out more about face-to-face interactions.
Sitting next to each other? Put your phone on the table just below the person you're talking with. If this makes it difficult for you to see your screen, invite your friend to install Ava on their phone, or take a Bluetooth microphone and lend it to them, and follow what's said on your phone. You can also type responses on your phone's keyboard.
If the main speaker is giving a presentation, use a Bluetooth microphone.

The greater the background noise, the closer you need to be.
Ava has powerful filters for background noise. But in noisy situations like restaurants, cafes or bars, loud backgrounds can reduce the clarity with which Ava hears everyone's voice. When this happens, speak closer to the microphones or move to a quieter location. For example, ask participants to hold the phone in their hands to speak directly into the microphone.
We've had good results with affordable bluetooth microphones so you can be hands-free and still getting accurate captions.
I've tried everything, but it doesn't improve accuracy!

Check your phone's microphone for dust - remove it if necessary.
Check that your microphone is picking up voices correctly. Use a voice recording application and play back the audio to check if the audio picked up by your microphone is clear.
