# How to Sign “Living Room” in Sign Language

The living room is often the central gathering place in a home, where family and friends come together to relax and spend time together. It can also be called the "family room" or "den".

## Signing “Living Room”

1. **Hand shape**: First, form your dominant hand into an “L” handshape. Then, form both hands into a closed “5” handshape.
2. **Hand location**: First, bring your “L” to your chest, thumb touching your body. Then, bring both closed “5” hands in front of your body, palm facing each other.
3. **Movement**: First, sweep your “L” upwards against your body. Then sign “room,” moving your hands in one switch motion from facing each other to both palms face your body.
4. **Facial expression**: Keep a neutral facial expression.
